Hey Murph...

Great site, great tunes...

What's the deal with with constant changing website? Isn't there enough change in this world? Sometimes it'd be nice if it just slowed down a little...

Hi Terry, (KHS 1971)
Just got handed your CD. As I am a fan of Greg Brown, Todd Snider, Patti Griffin, Stacy Earle, Karen Savoca and on and on, I am already fond of your music style.
I am liking what I am hearing. Glad to hear you doing well-

Small Town Charm is definitely one of Terry's best CDs. I'd rate it in the top two. Anyways great job Terry. Keep on Keepin' On, Don't Stop Believein', and way to make a dream a reality and keep it alive.

Terry, I believe we worked together at the Eau Claire Academy back in the 70's. Glad to see you're still playing - I'm still playing too (Pedal Steel in a Honky Tonk band these days). I'm living in Fort Atkinson now and hope to catch you one of these days.

Murph, My Brother...as I get older I try to live my life according to the simple mantra of...
Body-Mind-Spirit. You run and bike for your body. You read, write, teach and play for your mind. But it is your spirit reflected both in your words&music and the life you lead as father, husband, teacher, that makes you a humble great man who has found the elusive happiness that is life. We, who know you, are the inspiration for your music and who in turn are inspired but your gift of music. NEVER STOP PLAYING for "That's what right for you my brother"

Love,
Frank Tiberious Burns

Hey Murph, I bought your CD and I love it!! Are you coming up to Door County this year? I'm interning at AFT as I told you before, and I'm getting to know Doc and the guys. The level of artistry is amazing up here as I'm sure you know. Lots of great campfire songs remind me of the good ole days at the John Q Inn on the CC trip to Fennimore. Well hit me up with an e-mail if you wish to.

Cheers

Thoroughly enjoyed your performance at the Chocolate Festival this past weekend. It was a beautiful day and your beautiful music made it complete. Purchased your CD and have listened all the way thru twice in the last 4 days, although nothing beats a LIVE performance. You and your fell musicians are a delight! Keep the music comin'!!

Murph,
I was lookig at your links and thought it might be good to add WBSD to the link list. Let them know they can hear your disk or you live on a regular basis.
Great job at the cafe Chocolate!!

You've got a great voice and soulful melodies. I just want you to know that I respect what you're doing, even if I am just a silly skinsman.

Heard about the disc from a friend...That friend, whom was marginal at best before, is now my best friend because this record is good.

There is nothing better than kicking back on a Sunday afternoon and just listening...no one listens anymore to the music. They are too obsessed with the visual aspect, but not me...I just listen to the music, and boy is this music. I like your views, I like your instrumentation, and I like the entire vibe of the record. Bravo and please come out with more.

Supporting local artists isn’t the only reason to pick up Terry’s, Live Like an Artist. I bought a copy at my twenty-something daughter’s urging earlier in December, and I
find it inspiring and deeply real.

I love the call of outdoor Wisconsin in Catfish Bay and the
the sad rebuke of The Sod it Ain’t No More and Golden Arches at the increasing loss of our natural places and the reminder it brings of how our humanity is tied up in the quiet places of untrodden land. All of us who grew up in southeastern WI when vacant lots and farm fields were ours to explore know the energy of peace and creativity that is disappearing along with the loss of our wild places! Well captured, Terry!

Finally, Over A Barrel is a message so passionately expressed that it moves me each time I hear it. It sounds like poetry to me. It actually reminds me of some of Peter, Paul and Mary’s music from the sixties…

Terry’s music making endeavor is also a reminder to us all that we should keep on living our dreams.

Murph,

I've been meaning to send my congrats for some time now. I picked up your cd after a trail run in La Grange. It reminds me of the good ol' days of ETCC. I always feel a little nostalgic when one of your tunes cycles through the ipod on my long runs through the prairie. I hope all is well with you and the family.

So we are at Field of Beans yesterday and all of a sudden my Dad goes, " I know this guy, we use to sing Beatles songs in his basement and try to sing like we were the Beatles!" So then I'm like, "Get outta here!" Well Jeff Dodds says "Hi". And he wonders if you ever mastered the "Wild Thing". Maybe we'll try to get over to the Love Coffee shop next month, sounds like a fun evening.

Hey Terry,

I remember seeing you down south a while back with your band. It is great that you are great without them. This disc...I can't explain it...is unreal. I love the way you thread your songs with classic traditional views as well as with a fiery bravado that no one can stop or resist even if they tried to. Keep up the good work and keep that beautful pristine and pure Folk music alive for the younger generations that don't know whats good for them!!!!

Loved your album! At last someone with something relevant to say. John Prine and Bob Dylan have nothing on you. I want to buy more CD's to give to friends who love music and poetry. One of your next gigs has to be Praire Home Companion.

Terry
A great cd from a great man. Congrats.
I love the originality of all the songs.
I would say that its almost better than sitting around the campfire listening to you play.
Keep up the creative work .
By the way I am still waiting for the autobiography. That would be a good read!

Hey Terry-
Like I said before, I didn't realize we had such a musician in our midst! I'll finish listening the rest of the CD today. Also, I forgot to get you the $ yesterday at Whitewater, I'll remember next time, maybe it'll be Friday in Whitewater. I made it back in pretty good time on my "drop-off run" yesterday!

Heh Murph - Congrats! I'll gladly order a copy. Will send you a check soon. By golly, you even look good on your homepage! Someone really "touched-up" that picture (only kidding). Very envious of your endeavour - always wanted to play guitar, but only rented drums so I could play "Wild Thing". Hope you're swinging some also and enjoying Door County. Hope to see you soon. Doug
