Terry Murphy: Music
I live like an artist
(Terry Murphy)
I live like an artist (Terry Murphy)
~ A little ditty about a way of life…every day we all should be so creative and relaxed.~
[G] I live like an artist
When my wife is out of town
Walk around in my shorts
Leave guitars all [D] around
No “honey-do” list
To get done by [C] noon
Just [G] keep the dog barkin’
Get’em medication [C] soon
[G] I live like an artist
When my [D] wife is [C] out of [G] town
I [C] don’t sleep real well
With her pillows….. in my [G] arms
And I [D] miss her so badly……
But being an [C] artist [D] has a certain [G] charm
An [G] artist can’t be bothered
By structure or rules
Or painting the shed
Or picking up his [D] tools
I [G] work on my music
And sing nice and [C] loud
And [G] let the phone ring
When I feel so [C] endowed
I[G] live like an artist when my[D]wife is[C]out of[G]town
I [G]drink from the carton
leave dishes in the sink
talk out loud
even say what I [D] think
[G] call up the boys
have a card game [C] tonight
[G] haven’t been wrong
only been [C] right
I[G] live like an artist when my[D]wife is[C]out of[G]town
The [G] dog’s up and running
He hears her coming home
Quick pick up the place
You’re no longer at [D] home
The [G] kitchen is clean
And the carpet’s been [C] swept
The artist is leaving
But happy you [C] bet
To [G] live like an artist
When my [D] wife is [C] out of [G] town
