Terry Murphy: News
Wedding project - January 19, 2008
There comes a time when the father of the bride has to give the girl away...and it happened in our family this fall. Kelley has met the man of her dreams and found her happiness, teaching music in the Madison area. Her man Dan is a wonderful addition to our family and brings his own "musicality", complete with a booming bass and vocal percussion for those long car rides. We are fast friends with his family and sincerely look forwrd to our times together. In fact, Dan's mom helped co-write and sing backup on a new song that will become part of the next Terry Murphy music project. I released a limited mini CD of songs especially written for Dan and Kelley's wedding. Good tidings on your journey....that is not only a wedding wish but the title of a new song.
Summer is ending..a few thoughts on my travels - August 24, 2007
The summer monthes have gone by and I have traveled plenty in search of interesting people places and garage sales. My travels have brought me from the Carribean warmth of Anquilla to the vast wheat fields of Manitoba. I have enjoyed meeting new people and continue to be inspired by the overwhelming goodness of people we never seem to read or hear about in the commercial news reports. Believe me when I tell you there are many good things happening in the world...we just need to to trust that the world is simply not as bad as some my lead us to believe. While I intended to begin a new recording project, the whirlwind of traveling around didn't bode well with coordinating schedules. I am eager to begin and promise a slightly different sound but still the fundamental simplicity associated with variations of folk music. Stay tuned to our calendar for upcoming concerts and unti we meet again ...happy trails!

The title track, Live like an Artist and The sod, it ain't no more, were played back to back on August 13th. "American music" played in Belgium - August 13, 2006
The catchy little tune about the USA's best import has caught the attention of a radio dj in Belgium and was part of a playlist on a weekly program hosted by Ray Peteirs, a 25 year veteran of European radio. The program is called "Somewhere Between ", and is part of an Internet Radiostation called "Golden Flash " in
Westerlo, Belgium.
Ray saw the artist profile on CDBaby, gave it a listen and seemed to like it enough to be part of his playlist on August 10th.
According to Ray, the station was voted best webradio in 2004.
Ray does a weekly show on established and not-so-established musical artists from the USA.
I feel the world getting smaller...pretty cool!
